Vital Statistics 

 The Vital Statistics Department under the direction of the State Registrar is responsible for the uniform and efficient registration, compilation, storage, and preservation of all vital records for Hendry County. Primary functions of the department include assuring total registration of birth, death, and fetal deaths and ensuring that the confidentiality and integrity of all vital records are maintained.

The Hendry County Vital Statistics office has on-line access to and sells certified death certificates of persons who have died in Hendry County from 1963 to the present. Certified copies of vital records are issued to qualified applicants for identification, genealogical, and legal purposes.

Vital Statistics assists the general public in amending records resulting from typographical errors, legal name changes, paternity actions and the filing of delayed records. This department also has the capability of providing addresses and fees for out-of-state documents.

Please ensure that you are eligible to receive these documents. You must meet one of the following criteria: Be the parent, guardian or legal representative of the person named on the certificate, or have a court order. You must bring photo identification.
