Teen Health Programs
Teen Health Center
The Teen Health Center operates at in Hendry and Glades counties. The purpose of this program is to use a holistic approach to reduce teen pregnancy by addressing many aspects of a teen's life. The centers are open one day a week at each site to assure that teens have access to services.
Services provided:
- Health Education
- Medical Services
- Counseling
The program is located at health department in each city.
- Tuesday in LaBelle from 1:00PM - 5:00PM
- Wednesday in Clewiston from 1:00PM - 5:00PM
- Thursday in Moore Haven from 1:00PM - 5:00PM
There is no charge for any of the services (immunizations, family planning, etc.) to teens ages 12 - 19.
*Teens do not have to be enrolled in school to participate.
Teen Center Plus
The Teen Center Plus operates in both Hendry and Glades counties. The purpose of the program is to promote the importance of abstaining from sexual activity until marriage through the use of abstinence education tools.
Services provided:
- Health Education
- Tutoring
- Community Service
- Arts and Crafts
- Home Visits
The times are from 2:30PM - 5:00PM. The days and locations are:
- Monday in LaBelle at Mira Verde Apartments, 6760 Santa Fe N.
- Tuesday in LaBelle at James A Singleton Building, 870 Caloosahatchee Avenue
- Wednesday in Clewiston at Clewiston High School
- Wednesday in Montura at 255 North Hacienda Street (located beside Montura Club House)
- Thursday in Moore Haven at the health department.
*Teens must be enrolled in school to participate and between the ages of 12-18.
